KWU SENSHI Gold Cup 2026

Branch chiefs, Directors, Shihan, Sensei and karatekas, you are all invited to the KWU SENSHI Gold Cup 2026. This competition, which has made its mark in the past, returns once again this year with an exclusive partnership from the KWU SENSHI. Indeed, for this event, Shihan Dominic Ohan, Shihan Pierre Cataford, and their team have come together to offer you a high-caliber championship.

Date and location

The event will take place on Saturday, March 14, at Pierre Charbonneau Community Center, located at 3000 Viau Street in Montreal.

The competition will begin at 9 a.m.

All competitors must arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Who can participate ?

This competition is open to beginners, children, adults, and elites alike.

Different categories are offered

Registration can be made for katas only, for fights only, or, for those seeking the ultimate challenge, both katas and fights.

Kata and kumite include three categories: Open, Elite, and Masters.

Kata:

• Open: children, white belt to black belt. Adults, white belt to brown belt. Groups will be mixed, formed according to belt level and age of competitors.
• Elite: experienced competitors 18 years and older, black belt.
• Master: karateka 35 years and older, black belt.

Fighting:

• Open: karateka, children and adults, white to black belt. The fights are semi-contact, meaning all head strikes must be controlled, with combat equipment. Groups will be separated by gender, formed according to belt level, and age of competitors.
• Elite: experienced fighter aged 18 and above, any belt level. Matches are full-contact without combat gear. Groups will be separated by gender and formed by weight category.
• Master: experienced fighter aged 35 and above, black belt. Matches are full-contact with combat gear. Groups will be separated by gender and formed by weight category.

Man
Lightweight: 70 kg (155 lb) and less
Medium: 80 kg (176 lb) and less
Heavy: 80 kg (176 lb) and more

Women
Lightweight: 55 kg (121 lb) and less
Medium: 65 kg (143 lb) and less
Heavy: 65 kg (143 lb) and more

Register online from February 10 to March 7, 2026.

Registration Costs

• $75 for those under 18*
• $85 for adults*

* The same price for registration for 1 or 2 events, regardless of the category (open, elite, or master)

Spectator

Tickets for spectators will go on sale the morning of the event, cash payment only.
